The New Avenue S Church of Christ is a nondenominational, independent church that seeks to be Christ centered and family oriented. It is our appointed duty and privilege to help seekers of GOD in their search for goodness and truth to find answers in Jesus. We know that the Good-News freed from religious jargon is as relevant and powerful today as it was when it was originally preached.
It is our belief that God’s vision for The New “S” Avenue Church of Christ is to: identify, equip, train and support believers to carry the message of the Good News of Jesus and the ministry of the church to seekers of God in the world. Using the fourfold foundation of Praise, Worship, Doctrine and Fellowship in Service, we will build a spiritual community where seekers of God can learn to live successfully in this world. The New Avenue S Church of Christ is an independent, nondenominational, Christ centered congregation of our Lord’s universal church. We seek to build strong families so that our church family will be strong. It is our aim to praise and reverence God in our worship assemblies in order to experience HIS presence in our midst.
The foundation of our church is the teaching and inculcation of Doctrinal truths for it is the truth that sets us free. We emphasize love and unity as the cornerstone of our fellowship. Serving our fellow believers and seekers of God is the focus of our ministry efforts to meet the spiritual, emotional, social and physical needs. We know that the Gospel is good news.
It is our primary goal to carry the Good News of Jesus to seekers of God so that they may become citizens of God’s Kingdom. It is our hearts’ desire and goal to seek, find and do God’s will in this life. Therefore, we submit to the spirit to guide us. Like God’s original church in the wilderness, we depend on HIS presence. So, whenever and wherever the Cloud stays, we stay. Whenever and wherever the Cloud moves, we move. This we believe is God’s vision for the church.
